History

DEEMI has multiple aspects training, safety being the foremost concern. Many of our members are pre trained and pre qualified from the jobs and functions they do on other services. DEEMI then enhances this with safety training on aircraft, and use of SAR training. Some members might bring medical, others such as pilots bring military and civilian training with them to our aviation assets. Computer technicians, digital photography experts, and support personnel make this organization unique and diverse in its approach and training.

     We have work days, and cross over training for those interested in advance positions such as crew chief, or safety training with FAA standards. We comply with FAA AD notes and even the service bulletins for our multiple aircraft. Aviation assets and systems aside, there are medical and SAR training constantly ongoing and updated by those members on our teams. We follow a model used in other states and in the United Kingdom, that of all teams having technical and medical aspects using specialized vehicles and aircraft to improve outcomes.

We welcome members who want to improve themselves in caring for others, so that others might live.

Note on present day hueys the bumper stops have been removed causing the blades to be able to come close to the ground. Caution is highly advised not to approach a helicopter until the pilot or crew chief advises it is safe, espically from the uphill side of the helicopter.
